The Season of Giving Approaches

As gala season kicks off, some suggestions on where the scene will be (while giving back of course)...

alt
alt
Even though we already had our first snowfall of the year that is not a reason to hibernate. It’s gala season and the marathon of the must be seen at parties with the best scene is about to begin (and its all for a good cause). So, go on, get your black tie ‘drobes to the dry cleaners and mark your calendars Boston. Here are some suggestions from us over here at Dirty Water News on what you can do during the most wonderful time of year to celebrate and give back.
THE GOOD BELLY PROJECT IN SUPPORT OF UNICEF WHEN:
Sunday October 16 – November 16th, 2011
WHERE:
Various restaurants in the Boston area
COST:
Free
If you’re a foodie, like I’m a foodie, than quite frequently you might snap a picture of your meal and upload it to a friend to make them jealous they aren’t enjoying the delicious sliders that were just placed before you. If you are one of these people than I encourage you to participate in The Good Belly Project. If you are not one of these people than get in the habit because The Good Belly Project is an easy way to support UNICEF and fill bellies of famished families in East Africa.
The Good Belly Project partners with restaurants in the Boston area and uses a popular photo sharing app called Instagram to fill bellies. When you eat at a Good Belly Restaurant, take pictures of your meal with Instagram. Tag the photos #goodbellyproject and set the restaurant as your location. Then share these photos and encourage others to support Good Bellies too. The more photos you take the more bellies you feed. Because for every photo you post, the restaurant will donate $1. All the proceeds will go to East Africa to help with famine.
GOOD BELLY RESTAURANTS TO CHECK OUT:
Abigail’s, Bambara, Bergamot, Bon Me Truck, Eastern Standard Kitchen & Drinks, Figs Beacon Hill, Figs Charlestown, Fillbelly’s (Food Truck), Hillstone, Isabelle’s Curlycakes, Island Creek Oyster Bar, Kingfish Hall, KO Prime, Market by Jean Georges, Naked Pizza Brighton, Naked Pizza Brookline, Rialto Restaurant + Bar, Sibling Rivalry, Stephi’s on Tremont, The Vault.
I have a huge belly for the dueling menu at Sibling Rivalry and can never resist a burger at Stephi’s on Tremont or a chance to shuck oysters at Eastern Standard so be sure to check out my photos by following me on Twitter @Thee- AmyDee. For more information www.goodbellyproject.org

The event isn’t just for ladies – men are also welcomed! Cocktails graciously sponsored by Barefoot Wine and Bubbly and Music by The Music Man DJ.
I’ve been to Smiling Stiletto’s shindigs before and I must say – they are a MUST, an affordable way to give back while kicking back with your fabulously fashionable circle of friends.
