Crystal Ball to help youth academic organization February 24
Ask any student or parent, and they will tell you that, despite Obama’s Race to the Top, the future of education is hazy at best. Fortunately, the folks at Steppingstone Foundation (www.tsf.org) have created a crystal ball that at least helps them raise funds to support students in the future, whatever it may bring.
On February 24, Steppingstone will host their 10th annual Crystal Ball at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston.
“Steppingstone is a nonprofit organization that develops and implements academic programs which set underserved schoolchildren on the path to college success,” explains President Kelly Glew. Through their 14-month academic program and comprehensive support services, the Foundation has helped children achieve goals for nearly 25 years. With a 99 percent high school graduation rate, Steppingstone’s system is hard to beat, especially as a full 82 percent of its graduates go on to graduate from four-year colleges!
“This year Steppingstone will serve more than 1,000 Scholars in grades five through 12,” Glew notes, “plus more than 300…in college.”
Though the Ball began as what Glew calls “an intimate gathering” 10 years ago, it has grown steadily and is now enjoyed by over 500 guests. Guests will be able to enjoy a champagne reception, silent auction, and live music from Flipside. Among the auction items will begift certificates to Mistral and L’Espalier, Winston Flowers, East Meets West Catering and Be Our Guest. Reservation requests for this year’s event can be directed to Alison Levy at

So while nobody can see what the future of education will bring, guests at the Crystal Ball will have a fun time helping students make the most of it.
