4th Annual Friends With Benefits

Doing Each Other…A Lot of Good!

alt
alt
SUNDAY DECEMBER 11 starting at 5pm and continuing throughout the night is the best benefit happening in Boston this holiday season. Friends With Benefits will take place at Hurricane O’Reilly’s (150 Canal Street, Boston) and treat guests to food, drink, live music and plenty of good times all for the sake of two of the greatest charities around. The deadline for ticket sales is December 10th. So go online right now to www.benefitboston. com to get your tickets. Go ahead...you can even do it on your cell phone if you’re reading this in print. Go on, I’ll wait...
The event will forward all cash proceeds--from the ticket sales and silent auction and to the raffle--to Toys For Tots and Homes For Our Troops. All guests are asked to please bring with them an unwrapped gift to donate to Toys For Tots, a United States Marine Corps run program that provides Christmas presents to children whose families are less fortunate during the holiday season. Additionally, proceeds will be raised for Homes For Our Troops, a non-profit organization started in 2004 that builds specially adapted homes for veterans returning from service with serious injuries.
The event was organized and is run by Nico and Brett Henderson, Dennis McDaniels, Tony Metrano Jr., Michelle Garside, Chris Rassias, Tyler Murphy and Ryan McHugh. Josh Logan and DJ Littles will perform live music. Also, local rap superstar Greatness—Dorchesterborn Greg Dor—will be performing a special two-song set. The main sponsor for this year’s event is East Coast Tickets. Nico Henderson feels confident that this year will see the young tradition go to another level, saying “What I love the most about having this event is that the spirit of the night is full of friends of friends sharing, giving, loving and remembering this is what life is about! All our friends look forward to this event every year and I can’t imagine not having it. This year will be bigger and better just because you feel good, you have fun, and everyone loves to dress to impress!”
Ryan McHugh, who became involved with organizing the event last year, also believes this year’s event may become the biggest and most successful yet. “The event is something that has gotten bigger and better every year, the reason for this is we have been able to spread the event to not only friends but friends of friends and their friends as well. We are having the event at the same place we did last year (Hurricane O’Reilly’s) and for that reason we have the familiar setting and the availability to hold up to 500 people.”
McHugh explains how simple it is to make the night a success: “The event is for Toys for Toys, therefore, you need to bring an unwrapped toy and yourself to ensure a great time.” It really is that simple. Tickets are only $25 to get into the door and any toy that you bring will surely help to make one of Toys For Tots benefiting family’s Christmas morning more full of joy.
“ The fact that we get to do this for not one but two great charities is really special.’
– Ryan McHugh
“Between the great raffle prizes, silent auction, Josh Logan and Greatness performing live, a great DJ, delicious food, and great bartenders this night is set up to be a huge event.” McHugh says.
“Everyone who has come in the past has come back in future years and returned with friends. Plus the fact that we get to do this for not one but two great charities is really special. Toys For Tots and Homes For Our Troops are two organizations that mean a lot to the people they help.”
